Mum 媽

Coming Soon

Introduction

Mama 媽 collects poems written over more than 10 years, some with images. While reading them they have brought back a lot of memories, both good and bad. I particularly like a fighter as I feel that despite how battered I am I am still a fighter. The poem You, you and you reminds me of how I used to adore my husband; we have weathered the most difficult times, each suffering in one’s own way. I cannot explain why we can be together again after what happened but I am glad to say that we now look after each other, and honestly, we need each other. Maybe his brother is right in quoting a Chinese saying 愛之越深、恨之越切, the deeper your love, the greater the hatred, which probably explains my behaviour.

My parents love me immensely and I love them dearly. Unfortunately, I could not spend more time with my Pa before he passed away. This time I hope I can spend more time with my mama.

Writing poems is very important to me. It is one of my passions and one of the best self-help techniques I have developed throughout these years, and it is one of the most effective arts I employ to release my sadness, anxiety, stress. I believe in art therapies and I intend to bring them to patients who have mental health issues. Time and time again I have proved that art can do wonders to people with depression, it can help us to achieve, to motivate, to gain back confidence and self-esteem.

I dedicate this book to my mother. I want her to be proud of me, a way I show my love for her.
